New Arctic Monkeys' song and video, Evil Twin

Arctic Monkeys shared a new video on their Facebook page earlier today. The video is for a B-side from Suck It and See single called Evil Twin and is seems to be made from the leftovers of Suck It and See video (which is not necesarilly a bad thing - lots of footage of Matt Helders and the lovely girl from previus video :D). Also, it's a little bit NSFW, you've been warned. Check both clips below.

New Justice album Audio Video Disco leaked

It seems that new Justice album Audio Video Disco was leaked earlier today (or even yesterday, I'm not really sure), almost 2 weeks before its official release. I'm really looking forward to hearing it, from the samples uploaded to soundcloud a few days ago it seems to be a little different experience, influenced by rock classics like Yes and Eagles, but still with a distinctive Justice feel. You can hear the samples and watch official videos for the singles Civilization and Audio Video Disco below.

UPDATE: You can listen to the whole album over at NME.

The Avengers trailer is finally here!

Marvel's Avengers trailer finally arrived, putting Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye all under Nick Fury's command. Although I'm not a big fan of Scarlett's Black Widow and Hawkeye in general, the rest of the trailer I like. Even yet another Dr. Bruce Banner, mocked by Tony Stark :D Let's hope director Joss Whedon does not screw it up (don't get me wrong, I love Buffy, but I'm not sure he's the right type for this kind of movie) and look forward to next summer! You can watch the trailer on iTunes or below (however, the youtube link will no doubt be down in a matter of hours).

The song that's playing in the trailer is "We're in this together" by Nine Inch Nails.

Woodkid live!

As you might know, Woodkid is on tour. And as far as I know, his shows are completely sold out. And what does that mean? It means there will be at least a few video recordings of new songs! I did not listen to all of them, as I don't want to spoil the surprise of what his album will be like, but I couldn't resist listening to at least one song (and some parts of the others :D) So, here's the new song, in a pretty good quality, called "Ghost Light". (And if your curiosity still isn't satisfied - just look for "woodkid live brussels" on youtube, there is a whole concert in a few parts :))

Peter Murphy & Tom Waits duet?

For the past few days I was listening to a lot of Nick Cave and serching for his rarities and bootlegs. Today, I found a bootleg called "A Flowerdance Collection For Verycd", which includes various collaborations of Nick Cave and Tom Waits with different artists respectively.
The second song on the album is tagged as "Tom Waits and Peter Murphy - Christmas Sucks", and what an amazing and funny duet it is! So I started googling for it's origin aaaaand: It's not a duet between Waits and Murphy at all! The song is called "This Holiday Season", it's recorded by a band called "Porn Orchard", from Athens, Georgia, and it's members are only impersonating M&W. And I must say, they pulled that off really well, and I'd tip my hat off to them if I ever met them :D
Below you can listen to the original recording including a short intro uploaded to the youtube by some nice user and you can also read about the song and band here and here.

Misfits: Vegas, Baby

"Vegas, Baby" is a short film introducing 3rd series of Misfits and a convenient way to get rid of Nathan (at least for now), played by Robert Sheehan. It also shows us a new character, who will be replacing Nathan in the series. The episode was released on September 15th here. If you can't watch it there, I'm putting a link to youtube below along with a trailer for the new series, enjoy!

Max Payne 3 Debut Trailer

The first trailer for Max Payne 3 is here! Typical noir music and Payne's classic monologue set in sunny Sao Paulo? I'm not sure how it'll work out, but let's hope for the best.

Björk's Crystalline

Today, Björk released a video for the first single from her upcoming album, Biophillia. The song is called Crystalline and it's video is directed by Michel Gondry (director of amazing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Green Hornet or another music video for Björk, Declare Independence). It's kinda oldschool, and reflects the song really well. Enjoy it below.

New Batman and Spider-man trailers

Here are the recently released trailers for The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-man. Dark knight rises is a conclusion to Nolan's Batman trilogy and the ending of a trailer may suggest what to expect ("The bat is broken!" maybe?). The Amazing Spider-man, however, is a fresh start for the webslinger, since it is a reboot of a Spider-man movie franchise. We will accompany Peter Parker during his high school years and his first love (Gwen Stacy, not Mary Jane). It seem like the movie will be heavily influenced by Brian Michael Bendis' take on Spidey in his Ultimate Spider-man comics line. In conclusion, both trailers seem really promising, even though I'm not sure using Spidey's first person footage is a good idea. Let's hope it'll all turn out right.

The Spider-man is dead, long live the Spider-man

Tomorrow, Spider-man will die. To be more specific, tomorrow is the day when Ultimate Comics Spider-man #160, the conclusion to the series spanning arc "Death of Spider-man", comes out. 10 years ago, Ultimate Spider-man marked a start for new generation of comic book readers. It introduced an all new Ultimate universe, a place where anything was possible (altough it wasn't always good for the story). Now, Brian Michael Bendis ends what he started with Peter Parker and will soon start with a brand new Spider-man. If you are not afraid of the spoilers, you can read Bendis' statement about Peter Parkers killer and more here. Now, the only unresolved question is: who is this new Spider-man?

And the following are original cover and variable cover (by Joe Quesada!) for Ultimate Comics Spider-man #160 respectively.

Assassin's Creed x Woodkid

Yeah, I know I'm a little bit late and tha E3 is already behind us, but I realized I had to let people know about these amazing videos and music. So, this is it: Yoann Lemoine, AKA Woodkid is music video director (yay, Mystery Jets!) and also a musician, who released his debut EP "Iron" on March 28th, 2011. You can read about him either on Wikipedia or watch his videos on his official site. Woodkid got kickstarted on June 7th, when the E3 trailer for new Assassin's Creed: Revelations game was unveiled. The trailer is accompanied by the eponymous song from his EP, "Iron", and it suits Ezio's struggle really well. Naturally, people started looking for the song to their surprise they found an even greater official video. Now, the only thing that's left for you is to watch both videos below and be amazed. I guarantee you, you won't be able to get "Iron" out of your head.

Captain America: The First Avenger trailer is here!

Here's the first trailer for Marvel's upcoming Captain America movie. It is scheduled for release on July 22, 2011, but you can watch some footage of really small and skinny Chris Evans (playing Steve Rogers, or Cap) hiding behind the lid of rubbish bin become really big and definitely not skinny super soldier throwing his shield at Nazis and Hydra thugs below. Enjoy.

Daft Punk x Coca-Cola Club Coke

Daft Punk teamed up with Coca Cola to release a limited edition set of Coca Cola bottles, named Daft Punk x Coca-Cola Club Coke. The gold and silver bottles look like they're inspired by Daft Punk's helmets and the limited edition will be available at the beggining of March at French clubs. Along with it, daftcoke.com will go live. Also, on April 5th, a new remix album will be released, named TRON: Legacy RECONFIGURED. It will offer 14 tracks from Tron: Legacy soundtrack, remixed by various artists.

Here's the teaser for the commercial, with music by The Third Twin (there are rumors about TTT being Daft Punk under different name because of legal issues with Disney that have been denied by both DP and Disney... but who knows? :D).

And this is how the bottles look... I have to get them!

Nikki Sixx's new book and album

On April 12th Nikki Sixx will release his new book, This is gonna hurt: Music, photography and life through the distorted lens of Nikki Sixx. It will follow in the footsteps of his previous book, Heroin Diaries, being a journal, but will also offer some of Sixx's photographic art. As in Diaries' case, a soundtrack to the book by Sixx AM  will be accompanying it. This is the first single from the album, Lies of the beautiful people

Thor 2nd Trailer

Here's the brand new trailer for yet another Marvel movie, Thor. I really enjoy watching its "movieverse" expand and I'm looking forward to seeing this movie, along with upcoming Captain America, The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and others... But back to the trailer: it looks like Chris Hemsworth makes a really good Thor and the movie will follow in Iron Mans steps (meaning it's going to blow your mind - as much as a movie about a Norse god wielding a BFH - Big Fucking Hammer - who's also a superhero can). Watch it below.

First trailer for X-Men: First Class

Watch the first trailer for new X-Men movie, which is to be released on June 3, 2011. The trailer does not reveal that much, but offers an interesting first view on young Professor X, Magneto and other X-Men. So, what are you waiting for?

Badass Nimoy sings about badass Bilbo

Yes, after previous post I had to cheer myself up a little and it seems this works really well. Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy sings about Tolkiens Bilbo Baggins and I think you'll have quite a problem to get this song out of your head. You'll be singing it all day long (I know, I'm evil :P).

The end of White Stripes

I just found out that White Stripes are no more. It makes me kinda sad, because I really like their music and I hoped for some new tunes and to see them live someday, but I respect their decision. You can read their statement over at their website
This is one of my favourite songs by them, enjoy.

I'm back and I bring you The Amazing Amanda Palmer!

I've been busy for quite a long time now, my notebook broke and school asked for my attention, so this blog had to be laid off for a while. But now I'm back and I bring you this awesome and insane collaboration between  Amanda Palmer and Young Punx, so enjoy :). The song is taken from her new full length self-released album entitled Amanda Palmer Goes Down Under. You can listen to the whole album on her website, so go check it out.
