Video for Woodkid's new song Run Boy Run debuted yesterday. Although visually it's pretty similar to his first video, Iron, musically it's something a little bit different. Much more dancy, I'd say. The video was once again produced and directed by Woodkid himself and, once again, it's stunning. Watch for yourself (I suggest in fullscreen at 1080p) and look forward to his debut album, The Golden Age, coming this fall.
Just to compare, here is a live version of Run Boy Run from Katowice. It's very similar to what Woodkid did at Electronic Beats in Bratislava, where I've seen him, and I find this version a little bit more intense than the studio one.
Lastly, if you like the song, support it. And if you weren't lucky enough to see Woodkid live and you'd like to at least hear the recording of it, have a look at this site.
Arctic Monkeys shared a new video on their Facebook page earlier today. The video is for a B-side from Suck It and See single called Evil Twin and is seems to be made from the leftovers of Suck It and See video (which is not necesarilly a bad thing - lots of footage of Matt Helders and the lovely girl from previus video :D). Also, it's a little bit NSFW, you've been warned. Check both clips below.
It seems that new Justice album Audio Video Disco was leaked earlier today (or even yesterday, I'm not really sure), almost 2 weeks before its official release. I'm really looking forward to hearing it, from the samples uploaded to soundcloud a few days ago it seems to be a little different experience, influenced by rock classics like Yes and Eagles, but still with a distinctive Justice feel. You can hear the samples and watch official videos for the singles Civilization and Audio Video Disco below.
UPDATE: You can listen to the whole album over at NME.
Today, Björk released a video for the first single from her upcoming album, Biophillia. The song is called Crystalline and it's video is directed by Michel Gondry (director of amazing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Green Hornet or another music video for Björk, Declare Independence). It's kinda oldschool, and reflects the song really well. Enjoy it below.
Yeah, I know I'm a little bit late and tha E3 is already behind us, but I realized I had to let people know about these amazing videos and music. So, this is it: Yoann Lemoine, AKA Woodkid is music video director (yay, Mystery Jets!) and also a musician, who released his debut EP "Iron" on March 28th, 2011. You can read about him either on Wikipedia or watch his videos on his official site. Woodkid got kickstarted on June 7th, when the E3 trailer for new Assassin's Creed: Revelations game was unveiled. The trailer is accompanied by the eponymous song from his EP, "Iron", and it suits Ezio's struggle really well. Naturally, people started looking for the song to their surprise they found an even greater official video. Now, the only thing that's left for you is to watch both videos below and be amazed. I guarantee you, you won't be able to get "Iron" out of your head.
I've been busy for quite a long time now, my notebook broke and school asked for my attention, so this blog had to be laid off for a while. But now I'm back and I bring you this awesome and insane collaboration between Amanda Palmer and Young Punx, so enjoy :). The song is taken from her new full length self-released album entitled Amanda Palmer Goes Down Under. You can listen to the whole album on her website, so go check it out.
Finally, Daft Punk released their long-awaited new album, a soundtrack to the movie Tron: Legacy. Album is more orchestral and at some places less daftpunkish, but the new single, Derezzed, is exactly what you'd expect from this French duo. It's video premiered earlier today on MTV. Enjoy it below :)
